Sew a bra for yourself and have it professional fitted to your unique body! Our two day class is often enough time to sew two bras. The first bra will be your test bra, so the fitting challenges can be worked out by our qualified and patient instructor. The second bra can be jazzed up in many ways, on the second day

Our newest original bra design, exclusive to us! This supportive, three-piece cup will provide a flattering profile to all your garments. Even if you’ve never made a bra before, this class is a class you will enjoy. Our instructor takes a maximum of 4 students so you will get all the personal fitting and instruction you need to make a well-fitting bra for yourself.

Class: Beyond the Basics (2 Days)

Saturday February 9 & Sunday February 10 Want to learn more bra-making skills? This advanced level bra-making class will really teach you designer techniques of construction and drafting, including how to make a front opening bra and extra support features, such as power bars and collars. You’ll also learn how to clone a bra from ready-to-wear and make a pattern from it. That favourite bra can live on in your wardrobe!

Class: Beginner Boot Camp (5 Days)

Imagine 5 whole days making bras, bras, and more bras! In Boot Camp, you will make two different styles of bras. You’ll learn all the techniques as well as getting a personalized pattern, then expand your knowledge to working with lace, and do different designer straps. Imagine - sewing for yourself without interruption all week!

Class: Advanced Boot Camp (5 Days)

5 more days making beautiful bras for yourself! In Advanced Boot Camp, you will learn support secrets and style changes that convert your basic patterns from Boot Camp 1 into a library of beautiful styles. You will also get a new three piece cup pattern exclusive to us. You can choose fabrics, laces and seamlines that are flattering as well as fun to wear. Limited enrolment.

Here’s your chance to make patterns for clothing fitted to your unique body. Charine from London has developed her own “Quick Blocks” method of pattern making. She will fit a basic pattern to your body and then show you how to make that one pattern into a wardrobe of beautiful skirts, pants, blouses and dresses.

Make a lovely camisole with lace trim in this one day class. You will have the pattern fitted to your body and sew it up in one day. If you take both cami and the panty class (described below), the price is reduced by $20!

Class: Professional Bra-Making Level One

Studies show that 7 out of 10 women wear incorrectly fitting bras. Learn to make made-to-measure bras and start a rewarding sewing business that can easily build into a full-time career. The whole course is made up of three levels: beginner, intermediate and advanced. Even if you only complete the first level, you can start a business right away. However, the next two levels will hone your skills in every aspect of the trade. During each session, you will learn to construct and fit made-to-measure bras, so you can work with your own clients between levels. Each level has both classroom training and client work with “real” clients, under close personal supervision. Industry construction methods are taught but we encourage you to bring your own machine. All classes are held Monday through Friday 10-4 pm and limited to 6 students per session. Students will have their own set of keys to the classroom so they can work extra hours in the evenings and on weekends as they desire. Applicants must have excellent sewing skills and an understanding of pattern drafting. Call for more information.

Class: Foam Cup Bra Course (2 Days)

Saturday May 3 and Sunday May 4 Everyone wants a T-shirt bra! A seamless foam cup bra that is practically invisible under clothing is easy to make once you know the tricks of the trade. Learn to draft the band to fit foam cups, and see how rotation can greatly affect fit and shape. You’ll also learn to do those tricky partial band bras without folding the foam. The class includes the pattern for both the partial and full band frames.

Class: Professional Development (7 Days)

Saturday June 14 through Friday June 20 You are now a professional bra-maker, but there are still things you want and need to learn. Join your colleagues for seven consecutive days of learning new techniques, materials and the latest in pattern drafting development and construction. We will spending 2 days of fitting, tackling some of the more unusual fitting challenges you will face. We will also spend 3 days doing a tankini or swimsuit from a bra pattern as well as two days doing foam cup bras.

Class: Industrial Bra Construction Methods (3 Days)

If you are looking to buy industrial machines, but do not know what machines to buy, or even how to use them, this private or semi-private class will get you started. Not only will learn to sew with a lockstitch, a zig-zag and three-step zig-zag machine, you’ll also be using a cover stitch with all the folders that make binding easy and fast to apply. You’ll also see the benefits of having an elastic metering device (also called a regulator) to apply elastic perfectly even if you do hundreds of pieces. Think of how easy panties will be! You will also learn the industrial construction methods of making bras, both full band and partial. All materials used in class are supplied.


More Than Bra-making
Class: Swimsuits (2 Days)

Saturday January 26 and Sunday January 27 Make your own perfect fitting swimsuit with interior bra cups. Linda will teach you to make fabric choices flattering to your body shape and seemingly whittle pounds off your legs, hips and waist while making a suit you can actually swim in. You can buy your own fabric and threads, but we can supply you with the foam for the cups and the swimsuit lining.

Make your own perfect fitting jeans with Johanne Brousseau. Johanne was a pattern maker for Lee Jeans for 12 years, and now she brings her knowledge to you. This is a special guest instructor we are “stealing” from her other venues, however we know you will love learning with her. The kit includes all fabric, pattern, threads, needles and other stuff!

Class: Jean Jacket (1 Day)

Why not make a jacket to go with your new jeans? Johanne Brousseau will custom fit a jeans jacket to your unique body, and teach the felling techniques and all the tricks of the trade to make this jacket look professionally made. The kit includes all fabric, pattern, threads, needles and other stuff!

Call our Bra-makers Hotline at 905-538-1396 and hold your spot with a deposit on the class and dates of your choice. Please add taxes to the prices shown here. Upon registration, you will be emailed a supply list. Some classes have a kit included - others will have a supply list so you can bring your own fabrics and supplies. All classes start at 10 a.m. and end at 4 pm. All classes will require a basic sewing kit - scissors, tape measure, snips, bobbins, machine needles, wash-out marker, seam ripper (just in case), pins and thread. Anything presser feet other than the regular ones will be noted on the supply list.

Don’t want to lug your heavy machine? You can rent one of our class machines for a very reasonable price. You won’t have to bring anything but your basic sewing supplies and a smile!

To get to Bra-makers from St. Catherines, take Centennial Pkwy all the way up the mountain to Mud Street, then turn RIGHT to get to the Linc, then take the exit ramp for Upper Gage. If coming on the 403, take the exit for the Lincoln Alexander Pkwy (the Linc) and get off the ramp and turn LEFT on Upper Gage. Drive on Upper Gage until you see Fennell Avenue, turn RIGHT on Fennell until you see Bra-makers pink sign on the second floor of the Sunshine Plaza. If you go past Upper Ottawa, you’ve gone too far!
